ROLE: LEVEL DESIGNER
GOAL: GAME FOCUSED ON 2D PUZZLES AND SYNTH MUSIC. IN A CUSTOM ENGINE.
DESCRIPTION: SYNTHALAXY IS A TOP-DOWN TACTICAL SHOOTER WHERE THE ENEMIES HAVE A SERIES OF WEAK POINTS RATHER THAN TRADITIONAL HEALTH. THE PLAYER WILL HAVE TO MANIPULATE THEIR ENEMIES IN ORDER TO COMPLETE COMPLEX PUZZLES; FROM USING ENEMIES AS A SHIELD TO MAKING THEM SHOOT EACH OTHER. TRAVERSE WORLDS, TAKE AIM, AND SOLVE PUZZLES TO SAVE THE SYNTHALAXY!
WHat I did? as a Level designer on Synthalaxy I was tasked with designing half the levels in the game. the game had a total of 27 levels in the game, split into 4 worlds.
I took worlds 1 and 4. there were only 2 designers on the team so I also had to pick up work in other areas such as UI/UX designer. Guiding the player through the tutorials, and menus.
